After Ellen Degeneres’ abrupt departure from “American Idol” today (July 29th), Jennifer Lopez has been named as a judge on the popular Fox show. According to Deadline.com, the show will not return to its three-judge panel roots by eliminating Degeneres in favor of Lopez. The fourth judge, who will replace Simon Cowell, has not yet been determined.
